I am deliberate in the process of degradation of materials and am interested in how we can transform the process of photography. In a historical sense, photography has been inferred as fact - dependent upon light and a machine of sorts, some form of light sensitive material and an ability to capture the subject matter with visual interpretation. As time has passed, the idea of what an image (or picture) is comprised of has changed. Presented here are images that utilize photographic materials in untraditional ways. I submit that daily experience in photography consists of screen time – Instagram and other forms of social media that have diluted the experience of the physical specimen that we call photographic art. It is my intention to create physical expressions to form as a trigger for interpersonal experiences through the physical manipulation of light sensitive materials. The final image allows the viewer an emotional resonance with an object that is fluid in the discovery of new ways of seeing. Please inquire about print purchases and pricing.
