“Within my Buddhist practice, I interpret the growth of self as expressed through Saṃsāra: the everlasting cycle of life, death, and rebirth. By initiating chemical reactions on silver-gelatin paper (Chromo), these marks express my own mortality; the interactions of recent family passings and tragedies reverberating throughout the human experience. My experience is not unique; however, having reached mid-life, this reality feels evermore real and present.”
Emanations is a portfolio produced for the Landau Gallery, based in New York. This solo exhibition began as an invitation from Pam Connolly, the owner and director of the Landau Gallery from our meeting at Fotofest in spring of 2024. This exhibition took place in April and May of 2025 and all works of art were created specifically for this installation.
LANDAU GALLERY is a dollhouse sized exhibition space that showcases photo-based art in 1:12 scale: 1-inch = 1-foot. The mission is to offer mid-career artists the opportunity to envision a one-person show of their work, free from ‘real world’ constraints. The Landau is in its third year of existence and offers 4-6 gallery exhibitions per year. This is the first time that the gallery has traveled into the physical world, having previously exhibited online only.
